Wednesday October 19th is a 24-hour celebration of what we all know and love–printing! With a goal of advancing visibility for fast-moving technology in the print world, everyone is invited to join in on the planet’s largest conversation about print in all its forms. From students to artists, everyone is encouraged to participate in this opportunity to share their work or favorite print. Anyone with a Twitter handle can join by using hashtag #IPD16 to interact with other print enthusiasts around the world. This hashtag generated an astonishing 27-million mentions last year.
This years theme for International Print Day is #PrintSmart, putting a focus on the industry’s rich history and vibrant future of providing efficient and savvy printing solutions. Deborah Corn, the principal at Print Media Centr and driving force behind IPD says, “Print Smart reflects our confident, creative industry’s desire to solve problems using print and share our ways of doing so. We’re expecting to see printers but also designers, marketers and entrepreneurs connecting throughout the day sharing samples and stories of great print–plus ideas, suggestions and opportunities to collaborate.”
The goal of International Print Day is to connect print enthusiasts worldwide and create a global conversation. In the past, International Print Day has been recognized by local mayors and even the United States Capitol Build when it shared pictures of its printed admission tickets. The creativity is endless, so join in on social media and declare your love for printing!
